The post A Comprehensive Guide To Etcher: The Best Way To Burn ISO Images appeared first on GoTechster.

]]>
Today we’re going to talk about Etcher which is another popular open-source bootable USB creator that is light-weight, easy to use, has a user-friendly interface, and is free!

Etcher is lightweight software, in fact, you don’t have to install the program on your computer, you just need to download the Etcher software from their website, once downloaded just run the program as administrator and you can begin creating your desired bootable USB.

This is great for users who are not comfortable with having a lot of one-time-use software installed on their computers that may possibly become bloatware in the future if they forget to uninstall it.

On creating a bootable USB, once running Etcher, under the ISO or Disk Image tab will allow you to navigate your computer’s file system to locate your desired ISO or DOS file.

When setting up your bootable USB Etcher will do it in a hurry. It is comparably faster than other bootable USB creators and is constantly being updated to improve both its speed and performance and compatibility along with the mandatory bug fixes if there are any. But do not worry just because Etcher is fast in flashing your desired ISO to your bootable USB does not mean it did not take the time to properly flash the image.

In relation to bug fixes what if you do encounter a bug or worse a problem that does not enable you to create your desired bootable USB? Are you stuck waiting for a fix? Not necessarily firstly you can email the development team as per their website, use GitHub issue tracker or search for videos on tutorials on the same or similar issues as there are plenty of users of Etcher.

So, you might be wondering if Etcher supports your desired ISO file. Want to use Windows XP? Go ahead Etcher supports all Windows versions starting from Windows XP (SP2) all the way up to Windows 10.

As for those who want to try out Linux but want it on a portable bootable device Etcher might just be what you are looking for. This bootable USB creator is compatible with most of the popular Linux distros such as Linux Mint! This is perfect for those who are looking to try out another operating aside from Windows or Mac since Linux Mint is seen as some of the most complete, bug-free, and easy to use Linux Distros with a great user interface that does not require new users to instantly become power users to enjoy Linux.

For a more comprehensive list and look at what other ISOs Etcher is compatible with they have a list on their website of compatible ISOs. However, that list is not exclusive you are free to test any operating system ISO you want and see if Etcher can flash it properly and report it to the development team so that they could hopefully add it to the list.

Another great feature of Etcher is its vast native language support. Translation of User-Interface elements isn’t the priority especially when it comes to free and Open-source software, but Etcher supports a lot of languages and you can even make your own translations by following the guide on their website. This is great since a lot of users that do not have English as their native language still prefer their mother tongue even when using the software.

The Complete Guide To Razer Cortex: How To Get The Most Out Of Your Games https://gotechster.com/the-complete-guide-to-razer-cortex-how-to-get-the-most-out-of-your-games/ https://gotechster.com/the-complete-guide-to-razer-cortex-how-to-get-the-most-out-of-your-games/#respond Sun, 13 Mar 2022 23:21:27 +0000 https://gotechster.com/?p=42 Razer Cortex is among some of the most popular game boosters that you can download.

The post The Complete Guide To Razer Cortex: How To Get The Most Out Of Your Games appeared first on GoTechster.

Razer Cortex is among some of the most popular game boosters that you can download. It’s free and it’s developed and released by one of the most well-known gamer hardware companies, Razer. The main goal of Razer Cortex is to boost your overall performance while gaming, but it also comes with some useful utilities and features. It’s free and it doesn’t cost you to give Razer Cortex a try if you want to squeeze in extra frame rate from your old and low-spec PC.

What we like a lot about Razer Cortex is that it’s 100% free. There aren’t any pop-ups or unwanted ads that will annoy you while gaming. There also isn’t any extra unnecessary software downloaded along with Razer Cortex. Razer is a reliable and well-known company so they wouldn’t want to bother their fans with unnecessary ads or subscriptions.

When you launch Razer Cortex, its main function is to terminate all unnecessary tasks and processes that are slowing down your PC and taking up resources. You can also do this manually, allowing certain software to run in the background. For example, an internet browser can take huge amounts of resources, yet some people enjoy listening to podcasts or music while gaming. Thankfully, there are a lot of lightweight alternatives to using your browser while gaming, but it’s good to know that this is an option.

Game boosters have some features similar to other system optimization tools. Razer Cortex will do various tasks such as defragging the game directory, changing network settings and emptying the disk cache. But Razer Cortex doesn’t do this as “thoroughly” as software in that category does, but it helps a lot with boosting performance. With the speed-up optimizer tool, a lot of Windows processes that are constantly running will be terminated, but an important downside of this is that Razer Cortex doesn’t give an explanation on any of these processes. If you happen to terminate a task that was crucial to your OS working properly, your video game or system might crash at some point.

What hardcore gamers will like a lot about Razer Cortex is the fact that you have a built-in “Deals” section where you can find the best deals and discounts on various games. You can connect your Steam with Razer Cortex and each time there is a discount on a game from your wishlist, Razer Cortex will let you know. On top of that, Razer Cortex combines the best prices from over 15 most popular game shops, including Steam, GOG, Epic, Humble Store, etc.

While playing your favorite game, you can earn Razer silver which is a virtual currency that you can use to purchase various video games or Razer hardware. However, you can only learn a limited amount by playing 15 minutes daily, and when there are special promotions. You might need to play a thousand hours before you can buy even the cheapest piece of Razer hardware. But it’s an awesome feature that might motivate you to use Razer Cortex.

A Detailed Review Of The System Mechanic Software https://gotechster.com/a-detailed-review-of-the-system-mechanic-software/ https://gotechster.com/a-detailed-review-of-the-system-mechanic-software/#respond Tue, 15 Feb 2022 11:50:12 +0000 https://gotechster.com/?p=33 When you buy a new computer, everything is fast and easy…but over time things start

The post A Detailed Review Of The System Mechanic Software appeared first on GoTechster.

]]>
When you buy a new computer, everything is fast and easy…but over time things start to slow down and lag. That is usually caused by sloppy file keeping and bloated software taking up too much space on your machine. System Mechanic is a utility program that boosts your PC speed by cleaning unnecessary files and securely deleting them.

System Mechanic will also repair any missing device drivers, eliminate memory leaks, revive unstartable systems, scan and replace out-of-date drivers, and even repair broken internet connections. System Mechanic uses a Startup Optimizer to customize your PC’s startup programs and speed up the loading process.

The main feature of System Mechanic is that it clears clutter from your disk space. System Mechanic is a little better at protecting your privacy than its competitors. System Mechanic uses Privacy Cleaner to keep your information secure by using multi-pass, military-grade wiping processes to ensure the complete removal of deleted files. By clearing unnecessary files and using only the programs you select, your computer will run faster with System Mechanic installed.

Memory Mechanic is a feature of one of the paid versions that reclaims wasted RAM in real-time. This is a huge benefit to anyone using multiple programs or high-demand CPU programs. There is a component of this software that searches for the fastest DNS server in your area and adjusts to reduce latency.

NetBooster does all of this automatically, but you can manually adjust settings if you are a more skilled user. A few things are missing from this utility that makes it less than perfect. There are no registry backup options and no automatic scanning options.

The program does offer a privacy shield and a malware blocker as well as a password manager. Only one version of System Mechanic is free. It offers a limited suite of tools that will help your PC reach faster speeds. The paid versions offer more access to customer service and a few more features that add security and privacy.

System Mechanic is only available on PC and requires the use of an Administrator account. It also requires 30MB of free hard drive space, though it will not slow your machine, but rather, speed it up. The user interface is mediocre in that it offers basic design with no real innovation. The dashboard shows real-time system monitoring and clean-up as well as the performance of CPU and RAM. It is customizable to set up for one-click tune-ups.

The On-Demand Boost feature is one that gamers will use when playing games that demand a lot of CPU power. It will turn off nonessential background programs and redirect the power to speed up visuals. This program is pretty similar to the one built into Windows 10. It is successful at improving boot-up time and keeping junk files off your machine, but it is not the only option available to users.
